I have been a fan of the family business novel since the first book (I usually finish the books within two days, and just recently reread all of them in preparation for this one). I just wish their was more consistency. In the first novel they say that Lou was the younger brother of LC and there is no mention of any other brothers. Then Grand Opening comes out and we find out that LC is actually the youngest and there are two other brothers (who are never mentioned in any of the family business novels, until this book). The only thing that seems to stay consistent is the story line of Orlando trying to find Ruby and his son.SPOILER ALERT:Pros:-We finally find out what happened to Larry, NeeNee and their son-The Orlando searching for his son story line was finally wrapped up.-We found out who shot LC-London finally stood up to that loser husband of hersCons:-Only one mention of the Minister from the third book who was playing both sides with Vegas and Sonya's husband-Levi and Shirley's name was mentioned several times but no explanation of where there are or what happened to them or their child (hopefully we'll get some closure if there is another Grand Opening novel, and maybe Will and Trent are their children)-The summary talks about Paris having nightmares about Niles and that Daryl being around reignites another feud between Paris and London (there was no mention of Niles or Paris' nightmares, there was barely any mention of Paris, Paris and London also did not interact very much with each other)-What happened to Vegas girlfriend from the third bookThe book left me wanting so much more, especially after they went back to Waycross, and since Donna kept popping up.I have enjoyed this series overall, but I feel like the time for it is winding down. Perhaps one more Grand Opening book to tie up those loose ends (Levi, Shirley, what happened after the family left Waycross, and how they eventually ended up in NY) and one more Family Business book to bring closure to all of the characters. I would love to see another book focusing on Niles and Paris, or even more of London and Vegas backstory.

Update: welp! I guess I'm late but the movie/series of this book comes out Fall 2018 and no one told me! 🙄. Ernie Hudson is playing LC Duncan so it should be good.Not sure if some of you realize this or not, but you don't have to spoil the book for others just to say whether or not you enjoyed it. Sheesh!!! Some ppl do check to see if it's highly rated before reading.Anyhoo, this series simply never disappoints. The characters simply come to life off of the pages. This is really great writing. I've seen suggestions of turning it into a movie (I've even considered that myself in the past). Although I would watch, I would hate for the movie to leave so much out and not do the characters and plots enough justice. Please give us another installment soon!!!

I loved the book. Finished it in a day. This is my favorite series. I didn’t read the prequels because I’m not fond of prequels so when I found out this was coming out, I couldn’t wait and it was well worth it. Definitely my favorite family to read!

I have read all of the Family Business books, even the off shoots - ie Open For Business, From Paris with Love, etc. Great stories and awesome characters! I have limited the books I read by Black Authors because I am not happy with the way we are being portrayed in print by our own authors but Carl Weber is one of the exceptions. However the time between book 3 & 4 was entirely too long. I read about 200 plus books a year so I have forgotten so much by the time the next book is released! Even though the Duncan’s are involved in illegal activities, these characters have many facets that place them above the average street thug and I think these characters would be great in a series - if Tyler Perry can do it than I know damn well Carl Weber can!

I wondered why we (my bookclub) needed to read The Grand Opening 1 & 2 before getting to this! (We’ve read them all, BTW)Well let me tell ya! It MAKES SENSE! I won’t offer any spoilers, but I do wish some questions would have been answered in the end with some relationships! Great read and wondering if how it was left/ended...will there be a Family Business 5!!I want a Daryl/London, Orlando/Ruby book!

A great read to The Duncan Family, a real page turner, I had to finish this book could not put down, will Larry get better,, glad Vinnie is gone, sorry Donna had to die, crazy ass Larry, what will happen next? Thanks Carl Weber

This book was another hit, from finding out about Momma Duncan, to the end of Vinnie and Donna. Yhe book gets more exciting on the next page. I didn't want it to end. I can't wait to see what the next book will unfold. I would love to read London's story before Harris. Thank you Carl Weber for another HIT!!!

I really enjoyed this much anticipated continuation of The Family Business. I don't want to give up any of the juicy details but the gang LC, Paris, London, Vegas and Orlando along with the rest of the family are back in this page turner. Carl Weber did not disappoint.

This is one of the best biographies I've ever read, in part because of the enormous charisma of the subject and in equal part because of the obvious respect and affection with which he is treated by his biographer, Louis Fischer. Gandhi's life and message can be a life-changing experience for one willing to think about his search for Truth, and his unwillingness to compromise even in the face of seemingly insurmountable opposition.When I decided to read up on Ghandi's life, I was confronted with many many volumes. I didn't know which to choose, so I bought several, in hopes that at least one would be a good choice. I needn't have worried. This particular volume is small and thin, and I selected it in part because of its size - a thicker volume on a man I knew nothing about would have been too intimidating for a first exposure. What a wonderful surprise! Fischer's story of Gandhi's life was engaging from the first few paragraphs and riveting through Gandhi's last utterance.Fischer does not analyze very much - this is not a history of Gandhi's influence on India and the wider world; rather, it is the personal story of a man who touched lives. Mohandas Gandhi is presented in the context of his world rather than Gandhi's world being presented in the context of him. To me, that creates a more approachable man, one whose life can be emulated, not just revered. This is a must-read with the potential to become a must-do, or at least a must-think. Highly recommended.

This takes us to Gandhi'ss life and you can sense thed beginnings of his non-violence. It's a phenomenal trip from his life from the beginnings to his tragic end. Highly readable!

Very clearly written. Fischer actually spent time with Gandhi and describes his interactions with him. That gives more power to the book's portrait of the man. He gives a balanced picture. I learned a lot even though I had read many other books and articles about Gandhi. Highly recommended.

Gandhi; His Life and Message for the World by Louis Fischer was a well formulated and relatively comprehensive biography on the life, and times of Mahatma Gandhi. The book also explained a great deal of the political turmoil that Gandhi found himself ...forever foundering in.A great and spiritual man no doubt. Shades of a contemporary Jesus, Buddha, and Mother Teresa all rolled into one. A great spiritual icon but one who struggled to overcome those nasty little demons (i.e.: jealousy, anger, lust etc.), that affect all of mankind.He trained the "Tiger" to overcome the "Lion" by non-violent civil disobedience. Ironically, "non-violence" spawns "real violence" and the results are...sadly the same.It was not England that killed Gandhi, but the same "Tiger" (India) that he had nurtured from it's captivity to it's independence.A very good and informative book for anyone trying to understand India and those who lived it's history.

I've read several books about Gandhi. Ever since that great movie came out so adequately portrayed by Ben Kingsley in 1982, this man has captured my love and respect. The book gives much historical information, an easy read and grasps the soul of this man better than any other I've read. Gandhi was so much more of a human being than we may have thought about him. That is, he was not only outstanding in every way, but also very human in his thoughts.During his lifetime he was seen as a funny little man who wore little clothing. The world DID make fun of him, including world leaders like Winston Churchill. I remember the newsreels when I was a child, and the audience laughed when Gandhi was pictured, including me.But as I grew older and matured (??), the movie "Gandhi" to which I previously referred, changed my entire image of this unique person. And I have read much about him since, but this little book gave details about him that no other did, personal and touching.My only criticism is that it is a very small(the original paperback type)book with small print yet I was able to read and enjoy it properly because it was so fascinating.This book convinced me that Mahatma Gandhi was not only a great man and spiritual leader but is among the few in this world that we can call a saint.

My hubby favorite travelers books. We use it all the time.

I usually love the Eyewitness Guides - they're my go-to guides when planning a trip. But I was a bit disappointed in this one. It was poorly organized, repetitive and confusing. I finally ordered the Moon guide for Santa Fe and love it.

Another great DK travel guide. I love the pictures!

Good information in a small format. Love it!

Bought this for my wife, who was taking a short trip to SF and she found it helpful. Nicely organized and serves as a quick reference.
