Received this book with prime and it was in brand new condition as listed. Looking forward to using this book in class! Glad that it has color inside and is not all black and white.

Best money I have spent in a LONG time. I'm a nursing student and part of our clinical rotation was to write down our patients lab results and note on any abnormals why they were abnormal for my particular patient. This book lists out not just the normal levels, but what conditions can contribute to the high or low values. Sometimes it's pages and pages of possible reasons. This baby is a fantastic time saver for me.

This book has been a great for my clinical experience databases. I love how its easy to undersrand and gives explanations to everything (why a lab value may be high or low, if it's low or high what could be the cause). My school offers an electronic edition for free to us but I like the hard copy.

Instead of going alphabetically, the book clusters certain tests together. I must always use the index to find what I need so it can be a little frustrating at first until you get used to the book. Once you're used to it, the content is better than other labs and diagnostics books.

This book is super helpful with my nursing homework and classes. It explains everything clearly and tells exactly what I needed to know about each diagnostic & lab test. Would definitely recommend.

The online fast lab and lab dx does not work it takes you to a non working site!!! I needed access on my phone I can't carry this book around with me

Very helpful for me when writing care plans for clinical experiences. I use it to describe different lab tests, how to interpret them, and what assessments and interventions to utilize based on the reason for the lab test. It's nice to have the online resources available to me, as well. :)

The works of Andreas Vesalius (1514–1564) have long been regarded among the great treasures of the Renaissance. Published as medical books while he was teaching anatomy and dissection at the University of Padua, they include the Tabulae Sex (1538), intended as an aid to students; the magnificently illustrated De Humani Corporis Fabrica (1543), and the companion volume, the Epitome (1543). Individually, these books are milestones in the history of medicine. They also offer one of the most magnificent collections of anatomical drawings ever published. The plates were executed with such vitality and originality that they have been attributed to the most talented illustrators of the sixteenth century, not to mention Vesalius himself. Many of the drawings, in fact, were products of Titian's famous atelier. For this edition of the Vesalius illustrations, Dover has combined the best existing plates and text. The illustrations have been reproduced from the sumptuous (1934) Munich edition of Vesalius titled Icones Anatomicae. The Munich plates were struck for the most part from the original wood blocks then in the collection of the Library of the University of Munich. These priceless art objects were destroyed in the bombing of Munich during World War II. Aside from the original copies of the woodcuts (of which only a few complete sets are known), the Munich restrikes are the best representations of the Vesalian anatomical drawings, for they preserve much of the freshness and richness of the 1543 edition. The text of this Dover edition has been faithfully reproduced from an edition of Vesalius published by World Publishing Company in 1950. The editors, distinguished authorities on sixteenth-century medicine, have provided a very comprehensive history of Vesalius, his career, and excellent explanations of the legends surrounding the illustrators, artists, and publishers involved with the production of his books. No other source will provide the general reader, bibliophile, art historian, artist, or historian of science and medicine with such complete data on Vesalius and his fabulous anatomical illustrations. This book is one that every single medical student or history enthusiast must own. It gives particularly accurate insight on the life and work of one of the most brilliant and important medical geniuses of the "rebirth". With unsurpassed detail and beautiful arrangement, anatomy has not been represented in such an incredible and accurate way, given the context and the times in which Andreas Vesalius developed his research (dissection was outlawed and Galenus' theories on anatomy, which were based on animal anatomy, were considered dogma) and the extremely poor conditions and knowledge of the human body up until that point in time. Like all great scientists and researchers, Vesalius' recognition came after his death, but it is still a great way to honor him to get to know a little about his life and work, which this book does in such a fine way. The quality of the paper in which it was printed lets the reader get the whole picture and because of it's oppasity you can enjoy all the details as if you were looking at the original work. The price is also quite a bargain, which, needless to say, is a fair trait in itself. As a personal note, when I first read and saw some of the paintings within Vesalius' "De Humani Corporis Fabrica", that was the moment when I realized my destiny was in the medical profession; and years later I can see it was not a bad choice at all.

The materials arrived quickly. Excellent material on the life and work of the pioneer of modern anatomy, Andreas Vesalius. For those interested, is the history of anatomy or medicine, whether in art history or biographies in general, this book is very interesting.

Vesalius is one of the masters of medical illustrations and this book is timeless, despite being from the 1400s. The illustrations are impeccable and laid-out in the most artistic, but sometimes gruesome/graphic way. A requirement for anyone in the field or art or medicine.

Frederick Taylor is a historian, not an economist. In "The Downfall of Money" he writes a history of Germany from 1914 to 1925 through the lens of the great inflation that befell that country. For example the German Mark falls from 4.2 to the dollar in August 1914 to nearly 7 trillion to the dollar by the end of 1923. He tells the story of how an ordinary wartime inflation which occurred in all of the major combatants turned into a hyperinflation in the postwar era as Germany was weighed down by reparations payments along with a social democratic imperative to fund the welfare state.He tells the story as to how the inflation impacted various stratas of society with big winners and big losers. The losers were well represented in the German middle-class who patriotically bought war bonds that were to become worthless and for many of them their wages failed to keep up with the inflation. The winners were farmers who held real assets and saw their debts erased by inflation along with the great industrialists who witnessed a stock market boom and the elimination of corporate indebtedness. By the end of the inflation the entire domestic debt of Germany was eliminated. To be sure the external debt was enormous.Along the way we witness the rise of the Freikorps, the killing of Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht and the assasination of Walter Rathenau, a Jewish industrialist who served as foreign minister. There is also a cameo appearance of a demobilized corporal who would one day rule all of Germany.Harris certainly has a feel for the history of the period. However, I only wish he would have integrated charts and tables in the text in order to get a better understanding of what was going on in the macroeconomy. Further he should have spent more time discussing the stabilization program that came in 1924 that broke the inflation and of its consequences. Nevertheless the book is well worth the read.

This is an absolutely excellent book on inflation. The author starts with the fact that the Germans did not pay for the war with more taxes (which the US did mostly during WWII). It just printed money. This meant inflation, but it wasn't crippling. After the War, the Germans were in chaos with an attempted Communist takeover which was defeated followed by an attempted right wing takeover which was defeated by the SPD organized general strike. The SPD lead the government and was generous with social benefits even if it did not have the money to pay them. This meant more inflation. Now it was getting bad. But the clincher was the French/Belgian occupation of the Ruhr and the Ruhr workers going out on strike. The Weimar government continued to pay them. Nice sentiment, but you can't pay people and get no economic work in return. The result was the horrendous 1923 inflation which totally destroyed the German currency and Middle Class savings. One would think we would learn from this historical experience. But Argentina hasn't. It is going down the same inflationary path (without a war to blame it on). The Argentine Peso was 1 to 1 with the Dollar in 2000. It is 12 to the Dollar in Jan 2014......and worse is to come. These two case histories (Germany 1914-1923, Argentina 2000-2014) should be taught in every university economics curriculum. I hope that Frederick Taylor is writing a book about Argentina.

Most readers are aware of the hyper inflation that ravaged post World War I Germany but few understand the causes. This book does an excellent job explaining the government policies that resulted in this economic calamity. The book is also written in terms that readers unfamiliar with economics are able to understand.

At the worst of the hyper inflation a U.S. dollar was worth 3 billion marks. Workers were paid twice a day and their wives anxiously awaited the payments so they could run out buy whatever could be had.I found the most interesting part was the explanation of why solid middle class Germans followed Hitler. During WW1 they patriotically bought war bonds and invested in real estate, were landlords and had their savings as well as the bonds wiped out after the war. They associated the Weimar Republic and hence Democracy with this along with the "stab in the back" and turned not to the Left for remedy but to the Right where the National Socialists promised a better tomorrow and revenge on those who betrayed the Fatherland.There is a lot of dry economics and many lists of currency rates and prices to get through but it's well worth it. A terrific cautionary tale against an unsound economy.

Purchased this book expecting to understand the underlying conditions and economics that led to the infamous hyperinflation of Weimar Germany. Through ~125-150 pages there was nothing but politics and history of the WWI. If this is what I wanted, I would have bought a WWI book instead. Stopped reading around 125-150 pages.

Hyperinflation in Germany was a piece of history I wanted to learn and this book taught me well. If you don't think inflation is the evil that destroys the middle class and the society, then this book will convince you otherwise. It still breaks my heart thinking about some of the people in this book and what they had to endure between WWI and WWII.

this book was an insightfull and a really good read!I was a child, growing up in Germany after the 2nd world war and could identify with a lot of stuff in this book, especially the loss or exchange of money. It also gave me an insight of how and why Hitler came to power at that time in Germany and how the German people suffered after the 1st world war. After the 2nd world war (which in my view was a continuation of the 1st) the German people continued to suffer. My family were refugees from the East (now Ukraine) into Germany and were very very poor .and had to beg for food, mostly from the farmers

It entered my life at the best possible moment—as I have been going through the mending of my own heart—and touched me incredibly deeply. She has a talent for crafting poems that are seemingly unassuming and straightforward, but that are, in actuality, extremely complex, vivid, and multi-dimensional. And the beauty of her writing lights up every line.Each section of this collection focuses on a different type of healing, and makes for the perfect book to pick up either when in need of overall healing and positivity, or when going through a specific healing process. The range of emotion shown in these poems hits its mark time and time again, and makes this a widely accessible piece. Peppernell’s words seamlessly fill one’s soul with the comfort it is craving, as well as the healing you didn’t even know you were in need of. I purchased books I and II for my daughter. I gave them to her and when she opened the cover of book II all of the pages fell out. So the book was not bound together correctly. Note: my daughter is 27 and an avid reader, so it’s not like I gave it to a 6 year old

As a long time Nikon DSLR Camera owner I purchased this book on the Mirrorless Nikon Z7 mainly because it was inexpensive compared to others on the same camera, I downloaded and previewed the sample first and was extremely pleased with the full version. An excellent guide and I will be referring to it for many years to come while I use my Nikon Z7, my only regret was not having this book available in late Sept 2018 when I purchased the camera here in Australia.

My title is the first problem I have with this book. Throughout, the author here is X and later I am going to tell you why this may be important and how you might be able to use the feature. Not a good guide as far as I am concerned. If it could be returned, I would do just that.

I am very glad I got this and all the fun digital advantages make it easy to find things. Use the search feature!!

terrific practical guide in all aspects of the Nikon Z6 operation

A very good, well written complement to the manual. A real help for exploring the camera and will be a useful reference in the future.

I am a long-time Nikon DSLR shooter who recently got into mirrorless because of the smaller size and weight. When Nikon released the Z7 and Z6, I was delighted. However, there is a learning curve because of the differences between DSLRs and MILCs, and this book does a great job in explaining what those differences are and how to best utilize the features of this camera. Highly recommended!

I didn't buy this from Amazon since I don't have a Kindle (and that's the only version Amazon sells), but I'd like to say this is an excellent guide to using Nikon's new Z7 mirrorless camera. It's clearly written and easy to understand, with full details on every aspect of this fine piece of equipment. It has already cleared up several things for me that I didn't understand about the Z7, coming from years of using DSLRs, and I'm sure I'll consult it many times in the future, too.

Doug’s books have joined me in my development as a photographer beginning with my Nikon D750 and continuing through my D500,D850 and now my Z6. This book is clearly written ,and anticipates and answers all the questions that may emerge as you familiarize with the Z 6 and progressively deepen your experience with it. It also serves as a superb reference book where you can easily reference a particular subject in its comprehensive index.

So I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to love this deck. Props where they are due: I was thrilled by the packaging, quality of cards and book. JHigh Quality and innovative box design. 5 Stars for packaging. 5 stars to Esther for her Tarot Meanings. The book is very well written and the quality of the pages and binding are also superb. Sadly the stars stop there. Thus the low rating. Becasue, after all, after 40 years of reading Tarot and many many decks in my collection, I didn't pay big bucks for the book and packaging. I wanted to READ with these. With Clients and/or myself. The artist is talented, no doubt. But there lacked a deep understanding of the Tarot as the imagery and meaning often clashed. The art itself seemed to fight its way off the cards, each color and shape vying for attention so that the whole card became a riot of colors and shapes and the feeling was not friendly or inviting. I own the The Day of the Dead Deck, and Tatoo Tarot, so I'm not afraid of dark imagery, but there needs to be coherence. Place them next to one another and it's a neon art factory with so much packed on to one card that it's a headache. My teen daughter and dear friend who also excitedly sat with me opening the deck were of the same opinion. In some cases had the artist simply enlarged the main character (see the Starman image on the box? Imagine if the card had been cropped like that, the face and torso, not an entire image of shape color and alien writing and on and on). But there were other challenges with this deck. Many times the main characters seemed forced rather than owing their status. Their backgrounds commanded more attention than they did. In other cases the image was just not in keeping with the intended meaning. The slashed up and bloody prince of cups standing with his silent rebel yell but not much else to make you see he had a hero potential. Then you look in the book and see that the writer of the meanings described beautifully what the Prince should stand...worlds apart from the image you are looking at. It's as if the artist and the writer did not have the same interpretation. The cards seem to be desperate to say something...struggling more to be cool than meaningful. They needed editing. The Kings face (many of the faces) are marred by lines drawn over the features. There is no warmth and indulgence with the King of Cups! He seems just as remote as all the other characters that show up. You don't get a sense of moving from the four elements, nor intellect to emotion to passion, nor the journey the Fool takes. They all seem like razor sharp characters waiting to consume you in their own indulgences. The three of us were so very disappointed. THAT said, I believe if the artist was willing to introduce feelings of compassion, fear, sorrow, loss, balance, hope, and support into an otherwise intimidating set of characters then their next Tarot collaboration would be AMAZING. My friend summed it up perfectly, 'maybe the artist needed to make this an oracle deck because I don't feel Tarot was quite understood.' I'm still shaking my head. I really want to love these cards.

I have to ding this for the poor quality card stock. You have to be extremely delicate shuffling the cards or they will bend. *What’s the point of a tarot deck you can’t shuffle?*The artwork is definitely beautiful and there is a lot here to work with, which makes it all the MORE disappointing it’s on such poor stock. Surely you could have spent less money on the box presentation and used it for better stock?This should be priced at least $10 less because of the disappointing stock. I’m really driving that point home but that’s because it is SUCH a disappointment.

The artwork is very nice...busy but nice. However, the BOOK BINDING IS HORRIBLE! It is SO tight that you have to squash the book flat to read the end of the sentences. Also the glue has leaked into the pages in some areas so that when you try to pry them apart, the page is damaged. Having to fight this book in order to read it makes this a loser in my mind. Looks like the money went into the box and not the quality of the binding or the cards. Thumbs down.

Pros: The artwork on the cards is spectacular. No borders on the cards really allows the artwork to shine.The box the cards come in is gorgeous. Heavy and the design is pure David Bowie gloriousI wasn't expecting a book with the cards and while I haven't taken a deep dive into the material, the book is almost two hundred pages long and every card is pictured in the book with at least a page or better description of the card and it's meaning.Love the deck. I cannot wait to spend some time getting to know it.Cons: The cards are flimsy. I compared them to my other decks and the cardstock used is noticeably thinner than the cards in my other decks. Considering the quality of the deck, the book, and the box, I was a little surprised that they chose to use substandard cardstock.The back image on the cards is disappointingly bland. Again, surprising considering how remarkable all the artwork on the cards.Still, I decided to go with a five star rating because I would buy again and would recommend the deck to my friends. Maybe in future editions they will upscale the cardstock.

Like most reviewers, I cannot fault the art, I purchased them just for that reason. It's bold and vibrant, and just a bit dark. However, I've had playing cards thicker than these. I mean, given their size, they're too unwieldy to properly shuffle, and I don't have particularly small hands.So, in summary:Better cardstock.Make them half an inch smaller.

I love this deck and book. I purchased one to keep and one to use. The art is gorgeous and the book is truly a gift. However the card stock is flimsy and the cards a big for a lady's hand. With the deck being so big and flimsy, I will have to be very careful using them. People in the tarot community have been dealing with cheap card stock for some time. Trouble using these cards is known. I still gave it 5 stars as the beauty and link to Bowie are worth it. Buy an extra set for keeps and one for use. Maybe later editions can be made on better paper stock. I wanted to come back and edit. I have large decks and a collection and decks I've used since the 1980"s. It isn't so much that the deck is large it's the card stock making it hard to shuffle as it is so thin and bendy. The book binding is also cheap and cracks when opened. I don't know how long it will last intact. Please put out another edition of cards and book with better stock and binding. I would buy it. Now it is more of a collector item for me.

First of all it's a manga so it's supposed to be backwards, sorry but that was a dumb ranting review, look up your info before buying or reviewing.Anyway this is a fantastic book and a great addition for my Zelda collection!Happy 30 years of Zelda!

Perfect gift for any Zelda fan! It's made a great addition to my husband's collection.NOTE: It's a manga so it's supposed to be backwards...in case anyone was confused!

The book came in very high very high quality and I really love it its definitely better than the original manga.

For fans of the game that would like some more meat on the already great story this is a great choice. There's action, humor, and amazing art. Many of the covers and single frame pages could easily be made into posters. I will admit Link is portrayed as your basic anime protagonist, but there is a reason the character type persists. I read this with my 5 year old son and he loved it, save one storyline that had him crying for a good while but wouldn't let me stop reading, pet owners beware. Highly recommend this for Zelda fans.

After getting used to read from right to left back to front they were fun books to read. These books explained alot to me about the games. They make the games more interesting to play.

I love this manga so much I kinda wish they'd remake the original games with the plot and characterization of this one really.

Arrived in great condition! I like that the child and adult volumes are in one edition now.

This is a great book. As I was reading I could recall to when I played Ocarina of Time on the N64. Being able to read and learn more about the characters really brought back good memories. The character illustrations are amazing, every little detail is there to make you enjoy the reading more and more every time you read it. I picked it up and could not put it down, and it looks like it is one of the first books I'll read more than once.

Got my copy today and this book exceeds every expectation I had for it. I so wish I'd had it for my 30 plus years as a teacher, school counselor and Marriage and Family counselor. It summarizes every effective technique I spent years studying and using. Should be in every school and home! Truly works with brain chemistry to calm the anger and switch on the peaceful solutions part of the brain...

I am a lawyer and a mediator , with almost 40 years in the practice field . I can tell you that this book will be a recommended piece in my work . You can find simple, real , and useful típs and techniques to use with parties and clients . Just the alert of psychological invalitation and emotional recognition and how to do it, make me say this book must be used in every mediation and mediation trainning!Good for Doug and more good for his work helping hopeless people to find ways to make their lives better

This taught me some de-escalation techniques I wasn't aware of and also made me cognizant of my own shortcomings as a communicator. I didn't know that people must be able to name their emotions before they can turn off their "anger switch", and that some people are incapable of naming emotions because they weren't taught to as children (cough cough TOXIC MASCULINITY FTW) and are therefore purely reactive. I've used this on my kids and also on some complete strange kids who were about to get into a fight. Haven't tried it in any political arguments, LOL. This book has also completely shown me how arguments on Facebook will never come to any good, because people can't turn off that anger switch in an online forum as easily.

I liked this book. It was clear and offered help on how to communicate with angry, upset and emotional people. When emotions are high and someone feel strongly, the verbal communications tend to be challenging. This book offers a way to continue verbally communicating and de-escalate emotions and get to the solutionizing. The book gives you a method or a tool to use. It's not the end all fix for communications, but it's a way to help. How do you know if a tool will help or not unless you try it out?

This is the most amazing book!!! Incredible tools that are life savers. I can't imagine not having these tools! Before reading this book and practicing these tools conflict was something that I ran from and would have huge anxiety around. Now every interaction is easy, safe, and empowering. This is a must have for all humans. Relationship life saver. MUST read if you want peace and are tired of anxiety and stress.

This book helped me increase my awareness, and use simple steps/responses to be able to handle conflict/ emotional confrontations. Simple guide that everyone can and would use as a life skill with family, friends and strangers.Real world stuff that you are practicing after only a few pages and wanting more.Hats off to Doug for dedicating his time to those in most need, at the prison and those not at peace.I also read his book Elusive Peace, so relative to today’s need in politics and life.... taking the time to build the relationship to gain trust so peace has a chance. I have been a fan of the family business novel since the first book (I usually finish the books within two days, and just recently reread all of them in preparation for this one). I just wish their was more consistency. In the first novel they say that Lou was the younger brother of LC and there is no mention of any other brothers. Then Grand Opening comes out and we find out that LC is actually the youngest and there are two other brothers (who are never mentioned in any of the family business novels, until this book). The only thing that seems to stay consistent is the story line of Orlando trying to find Ruby and his son.SPOILER ALERT:Pros:-We finally find out what happened to Larry, NeeNee and their son-The Orlando searching for his son story line was finally wrapped up.-We found out who shot LC-London finally stood up to that loser husband of hersCons:-Only one mention of the Minister from the third book who was playing both sides with Vegas and Sonya's husband-Levi and Shirley's name was mentioned several times but no explanation of where there are or what happened to them or their child (hopefully we'll get some closure if there is another Grand Opening novel, and maybe Will and Trent are their children)-The summary talks about Paris having nightmares about Niles and that Daryl being around reignites another feud between Paris and London (there was no mention of Niles or Paris' nightmares, there was barely any mention of Paris, Paris and London also did not interact very much with each other)-What happened to Vegas girlfriend from the third bookThe book left me wanting so much more, especially after they went back to Waycross, and since Donna kept popping up.I have enjoyed this series overall, but I feel like the time for it is winding down. Perhaps one more Grand Opening book to tie up those loose ends (Levi, Shirley, what happened after the family left Waycross, and how they eventually ended up in NY) and one more Family Business book to bring closure to all of the characters. I would love to see another book focusing on Niles and Paris, or even more of London and Vegas backstory.

Update: welp! I guess I'm late but the movie/series of this book comes out Fall 2018 and no one told me! 🙄. Ernie Hudson is playing LC Duncan so it should be good.Not sure if some of you realize this or not, but you don't have to spoil the book for others just to say whether or not you enjoyed it. Sheesh!!! Some ppl do check to see if it's highly rated before reading.Anyhoo, this series simply never disappoints. The characters simply come to life off of the pages. This is really great writing. I've seen suggestions of turning it into a movie (I've even considered that myself in the past). Although I would watch, I would hate for the movie to leave so much out and not do the characters and plots enough justice. Please give us another installment soon!!!

I loved the book. Finished it in a day. This is my favorite series. I didn’t read the prequels because I’m not fond of prequels so when I found out this was coming out, I couldn’t wait and it was well worth it. Definitely my favorite family to read!

I have read all of the Family Business books, even the off shoots - ie Open For Business, From Paris with Love, etc. Great stories and awesome characters! I have limited the books I read by Black Authors because I am not happy with the way we are being portrayed in print by our own authors but Carl Weber is one of the exceptions. However the time between book 3 & 4 was entirely too long. I read about 200 plus books a year so I have forgotten so much by the time the next book is released! Even though the Duncan’s are involved in illegal activities, these characters have many facets that place them above the average street thug and I think these characters would be great in a series - if Tyler Perry can do it than I know damn well Carl Weber can!

I wondered why we (my bookclub) needed to read The Grand Opening 1 & 2 before getting to this! (We’ve read them all, BTW)Well let me tell ya! It MAKES SENSE! I won’t offer any spoilers, but I do wish some questions would have been answered in the end with some relationships! Great read and wondering if how it was left/ended...will there be a Family Business 5!!I want a Daryl/London, Orlando/Ruby book!

A great read to The Duncan Family, a real page turner, I had to finish this book could not put down, will Larry get better,, glad Vinnie is gone, sorry Donna had to die, crazy ass Larry, what will happen next? Thanks Carl Weber

This book was another hit, from finding out about Momma Duncan, to the end of Vinnie and Donna. Yhe book gets more exciting on the next page. I didn't want it to end. I can't wait to see what the next book will unfold. I would love to read London's story before Harris. Thank you Carl Weber for another HIT!!!

I really enjoyed this much anticipated continuation of The Family Business. I don't want to give up any of the juicy details but the gang LC, Paris, London, Vegas and Orlando along with the rest of the family are back in this page turner. Carl Weber did not disappoint.
