OR - you can think about what you are reading, and ponder upon some of the statements.Even better - invite the Holy Spirit to read the book with you - and help you with UNDERSTANDING! There is depth to this book! Don't miss diving deep!
The take-away of this book is that if we don't get President Trump under control by changing his character through prayer, we'll reap a destructive future. Um, didn't we in the evangelical community support this guy before he was President and despite the weekly, & sometimes daily, demonstration of his base character? The fact that looking across the church spectrum we can find no one who will accuse him of having any trait of Christ-likeness suggests we are closing the barn door long after the horse has gotten out. We have invoked the dire things we now fear; God is granting us what we asked for. We are crafting a nation that looks more like pre-war 1930's Germany than a beacon of the Lord's love to a lost world.I agree with the author, Mr Johnson, that we need to start praying earnestly. But not for a change of heart in President Trump, but for a change of heart in ourselves and repentance for where we have brought our nation because of him. We need to ask God to shine his revealing light on our heart to show us 'how we got here'. Only after we deal with that can we ask the Lord what we should do going forward.I thank Jeremiah Johnson for being candid about his journey in our country's current political season. This book can be a springboard for any of us to ask God for our healing, for a heart renewed from repentance, and the assurance of a bright healthy future infused with His love; regardless of our political circumstances.
Jeremiah’s prophetic words are a great source of wisdom to me as an intercessor. God has used him time and again to confirm words I had received, and many times provided deeper revelation, thus guiding my prayers. This book is no exception. Upon reading it, my heart was gripped! With repentance, I am determined to go deeper into intercession. I pray it inspires others to join in the spiritual fight for our nation, our president and leaders, our cities, our churches, and our families.
Recently the Father has spoken to me about the importance of prayer, increasing my desire for the place of prayer, and attempting to lead me to intercede in areas where I had become silent. Reading this book has done the very same thing. The words contained in this book are stirring me to the core. I strongly encourage intercessors and watchmen to read this.There is a portion in this book addressing the Church about the Church in 2019. This resonated with me tremendously. Sadly, I’ve talked about it a lot, but haven’t prayed about it as much as I’ve talked about it. Thank you Jeremiah for speaking with an undiluted voice... the effect is an awakening of intercessors like myself.Once again, I strongly encourage intercessors to read this book... and anyone in the church who desires to know what the Father is revealing through His Prophets in this hour.
As a person who hears from the Lord as a prophet myself, it is always exciting to hear what the Lord is saying to other well-known prophets. I found this book to be exciting, and informative, but it does have a clear warning for us to become people of prayer and not just observers. I feel the call to pray and to prophesy and to properly steward my gift in the coming days as it relates to the future that Jeremiah has prophesied here. We all need to fast and pray and be proper watchmen for our nations and the world.
I want to join other watchmen and watch women in covering the church, USA, Israel and other nations in specific areas thru prayer. This book will help me focus my prayers on key areas to pray for in 2019 and beyond. Jeremiah Johnson is straight forward and transparent.
