I really enjoy the Taskforce series, and Brad Taylor is simply a great writer. I have never been in combat, personally, but have more than passing familiarity with rifles, pistols, and shotguns. It is refreshing to have a writer pay attention to detail, and to paint a picture of combat that is accurate and gritty. For one thing I have heard from veterans of combat is, your plan barely survives contact with the enemy, then it is all reacting and predicting, and the force that does so best, wins. Taylor makes the story so believable and engaging that I am disappointed when the book is over.
A good introduction to a team and it's mission. A little more detail would have been good, but it is a short story.
Gives some early background in the task force and some of its members. Probably worth the cost as it is Brad Taylor
If you enjoy the Pike Logan books, this story provides a nice glance into the Taskforce. A stand alone short story, it does a good job of providing some back story and offers further insight into the characters and team. For 2 bucks and an hours worth of reading, this is a n enjoyable and fulfilling read.
I like these stories because they show the human (vulnerable side) of a guy like Pike Logan, when it comes down to putting his buddies, Blood, Knuckles, yes even Jennifer into harms way. Although with Jennifer, those feelings are a little different, and the reader can see why!I also like the fact that Pike like's to plan out his moves before acting on them, even sometimes to the of the detriment of that plan! All in all, Brad Taylor is a writer that I will keep reading.!! By the way, right now I'm half-way through reading " ThePolaris Protocol". We'll talk again when I finish the book! 'GO PIKE'
If I had read this book first, before the other Pike Logan books. I'm pretty certain that I wouldn't be the Pike Logan fan that I am.This book had little character and story development other than to explain the call sign "knuckles". In fact, I thought the story was not complete, and left me hanging.loVery disappointing!
Love Pike Logan stories. Good guy. Like his co-workers,too. Way to go Brad Taylor. Have read several of your full book stories. Like them all. Thanks, Amarillo Turtle
